Introduction

I just started learning japanese and wanted to find a good way to learn hiragana. I wasn't very happy with the various apps on the web so I decided to make my own to see if I could do better. The basic premise is to provide a very speedy site so you can go through a lot of characters very quickly. I recommend to start as follows: I found it helps to reinforce the characters to learn the Romaji-to-Hiragana direction too. To progress, my advice would be to select a new 'group', and deselect all the others while you learn the new group. Once you're confident, progressively add back the other groups. This will test your ability to make sure you don't confuse the new characters with the old ones.

My goal is to make this the best Hiragana learning tool ever! I have several ideas for improvement:

Added Katakana, finally!

Looking at my statistics, .. the average using used this site for just 1 minute! Wow, you guys learn kana fast, (or I suck, or you suck).
